I have been an investor, founder, and senior executive in the financial technology industry for over 25 years. Throughout my career, I feel grateful to have worked with some of the most talented and creative people in the industry. Currently I am Managing Partner of Communitas Capital- a venture capital fund I founded with Tom Glocer (former CEO of Reuters) and Duncan Niederauer (former CEO of NYSE) In 1984 I began my career at Instinet, the world’s first electronic stock exchange, where I rose to become the company’s CEO and lead its $464 million IPO in 2001. I then co-founded Efficient Frontiers, a consulting and research firm specializing in trading technology, regulation, and market structure. Subsequently, I became the CEO of Majestic Research, a data-driven research firm catering to large global fund managers. Majestic was acquired by ITG (NYSE:ITG). I then ran Guggenheim Partners venture capital business. Throughout my career, I have been an active investor, with a particular emphasis on financial technology, crowdfunding, marketplaces, blockchain and data-driven companies. New York Magazine selected me as one of the Top New Yorkers for my leading role in redefining the financial marketplace, and Institutional Investor profiled me as one of the top 30 individuals making the greatest impact on e-finance.less
