Robert Smith is the founder of Conscious Capital® which has a mission to expeditiously fund solutions to the world’s most pressing problems and a vision to create plenty for the many. Philanthropy, investment management and creating financial vehicles to achieve environmental and social impact are in Robert’s DNA. Lessons were passed down to him about trading from his father; investment banking and investment management from his grandfather; institutional sales from his great-grandmother; and, philanthropy and creating financial vehicles “in divine service to others” from his great-great-grandfather. Prior to founding Conscious Capital, Inc. in 2014, Robert spent nearly 20 years working in trading, institutional sales, investment banking and directly for family offices, where he conducted company and manager due diligence. He managed traders at the world’s largest market making firm, which executed approximately 20% of the daily trading volume of the NASDAQ stock market. Robert managed institutional salespeople at three investment banks in New York City, where he participated in more than 200 equity offerings of private and public companies, and built an investment banking division at one of these firms, enabling syndicate participation in more than 10 equity offerings in its first year of launch. While past performance is not indicative of future results and his working capacities varied, Robert was the most profitable producer at four firms and, in aggregate, he generated over $40M in revenues from scratch. Robert’s various board and advisor positions include: The Harmon Foundation, the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, Religions for Peace, Thomas Jefferson University, and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). In 2018, Robert was recognized as one of the 100 Visionary Leaders by Real Leaders Magazine, alongside Malala, Mikhail Gorbachev, Oprah and others who are leading us towards a better world. He was also inducted as a member of Evolutionary Leaders, co-founded by Deepak Chopra, to bring together leaders who feel a sense of urgency about the state of our world and are forging a movement for the conscious evolution of humanity. In 2021, Robert moved from the U.S. to Switzerland because he saw a funding gap, where capital had not been moving quickly enough, resulting in missed opportunities by companies to improve and save lives and regenerate our planet.
