I am a mathematician and quant researcher with over 20 years of professional experience. Prior to iCapital, I was at American Century Investments. Before that, I was at MIT, teaching mathematics and consulting in quantitative finance via my firm, Gaji Analytics LLC. I was also technical cofounder for fintech services firm, ProfitModeler.
In prior lives, I was: a tenured professor in finance at Saint Mary's College; a lecturer in economics at UC, Berkeley and the Haas School; an economist with Deloitte Tax; and a lecturer in strategic finance at Minerva University. I have helped launch several online programs including one at MIT-Sloan.
In academia, I taught working executives, published numerous peer-reviewed journal publications (Computational Economics, Journal of Investing, and more), and presented at several academic conferences around the world. I published my first book in 2011. I also have a few media appearances (CBS, ABC, Christian Science Monitor, etc.) for my work.
Apart from my academic and professional achievements, I have made several expeditions to the Himalayas, climbed Mount Whitney and Mount Kilimanjaro, hiked the entire Grand Canyon (both directions) in a weekend, run three marathons, swum from Alcatraz to San Francisco and lots more fun stuff.
For those who might know what it means, I have an Erdös number of 3.
