Adam currently serves as the Managing Partner at Newport Advisory Partners, a boutique consulting firm based in Washington DC, specializing in M&A, transaction structuring, and capital advisory. His expertise focuses on guiding clients through the complexities of the Energy Transition and disruptive technologies, primarily targeting early- to middle-stage private equity companies and firms.
Previously, Adam held the position of Head of Americas Sustainable Finance Research at Citigroup, where he led cross-divisional initiatives in sustainable and climate research. In this role, he oversaw global sustainable debt initiatives, providing extensive advisory services and insightful market research. Before his tenure at Citigroup, Adam played a significant role at the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund's Office of Investment Management, undertaking various leadership roles. As Head of Sustainable Investing, he was instrumental in overseeing the fund's sustainable investments, securing new commitments, and fostering the development of innovative sustainable investing funds.
Adam's influence extends beyond his professional capacities, establishing him as an industry leader. He previously chaired the CFA Society of New York's Sustainable Investment Thought Leadership Group, where he managed a network of over 200 senior sustainable investment professionals. His involvement with the Economic Club of New York (ECNY) and his contributions to the Reporting & Assessment Advisory Committee of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) underscore his dedication to shaping the future of the industry.
Holding a Master's degree in International Economics and Finance from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, Adam is both a Ronald Brown Fellow and a Hope Scholar. His commitment to continuous education and advancement in the sector is further evidenced by his roles as a Non-Resident Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at Columbia’s Center on Global Energy Policy, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at New York University. There, he teaches courses on Financing the Global Energy Transition and Environmental Finance and Economics.
