I have a “stand up rather than stand by” mindset and I work hard to help drive positive, progressive and purposeful reform of the financial services sector for the benefit of all. I lead the fast-growing and increasingly impactful Transparency Task Force, a collaborative, campaigning community that encourages the financial services sector to be transparent, truthful and trustworthy. The Transparency Task Force operates through: - Running special events online and around the world that are designed to galvanise support for system change - Proactively engaging with all the key stakeholders including politicians, policymakers, regulators, subject-matter experts, academics, civil society leaders, trade bodies, professional associations, government officials, campaigners, think tanks and progressive market participants - Engaging with the media; we have been in the national press (front page of the Financial Times), the trade press and 3 interviews on BBC Radio 4 (including a special programme - "The Transparency Detectives"; and we were featured in a BBC Panorama documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ix5wR-v3tQ&t=1758s - Publishing our weekly newsletter, The Transparency Times - it goes to over 6,000 people, in 21 countries - Responding to Regulatory Consultations and producing thought-leadership White Papers - Running special events at the House of Commons - Initiating Parliamentary inquiries - 2 so far - one on hidden costs/charges in pensions/investments; the other on pension scams - Speaking engagements at events and conferences in the UK and overseas I am also proud to be: - A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; and Founder of the RSA's Financial Services Network - Chair of the Violation tracker UK Advisory Board - A Governor of the Pensions Policy Instituteless
