Alex is Chief Investment Officer at RhumbLine Advisers, a Boston-based investment firm specializing in managing passive, smart beta and quantitative strategies for institutional investors, with $84 Billion in global equity and fixed income assets (as of 2020-12-31).
Prior to rejoining RhumbLine in 2016, Alex was a Senior Research Analyst in the Quant Alpha Research Group within BlackRock's Fundamental Active Equities, where he built quantitative alpha models for the global fundamental portfolio management teams. Prior to that, he was a senior portfolio manager in Northern Trust's Quant Active group, where he managed the flagship four-star rated mutual funds, Northern Large Cap Core (ticker NOLCX) and Northern Small Cap Core (ticker NSGRX). Alex had previously held senior PM positions at RhumbLine Advisers and State Street Global Advisors.
Alex earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA in Finance from the University of New Hampshire. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). Alex is a member of the Boston Economics Club, the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and QWAFAFEW.
