Vito Racanelli is a Senior Editor and writes the Trader column at Barron's, The Dow Jones Business and Financial Weekly. He previously was the Foreign Editor - Europe, initiating the European Trader column in January 2000 when he moved to the print version of the magazine. He joined Barron's in October 1997 as a staff writer for Barron's Online and wrote the "Weekday Trader" column. Mr. Racanelli first joined Dow Jones & Company in February 1990 as a New York based reporter for the Dow Jones News Service's Professional Investor Report newswire and covered the energy, transportation, leisure and entertainment industries. In February 1994, he became chief correspondent for AP-Dow Jones in Italy. Based in Milan, he covered Italian business and finance. He was named the newswire's bureau chief for Italy in July 1997, and later that year he returned to New York to work for Barron’s Online. Mr. Racanelli began his journalism career in 1984 as a writer/editor at Weekly Review Proini, a New York-based, Greek-American newspaper. In 1985, he became a reporter and editor at Energy User News in New York, and in 1987, he joined Standard & Poor's news service as a reporter in New York. A native of New York City, Mr. Racanelli earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens College, City University of New York. Mr. Racanelli lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.
