At INSEAD in Fontainebleau, I am Professor of Economics.
From October 2013 to August 2017, I was Dean of Faculty and Research at INSEAD, and then I was Dean of Faculty until December 2017.
I have been at INSEAD since 1999. Before that I was Assistant Professor at Princeton University, Department of Economics, starting in 1990. I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989.
During my career, I've had 5 one-year visiting/research positions: Columbia University, Department of Economics (2010-2011); NYU Stern (2003-2004); Northwestern University (1998-1999); CORE at Université de Louvain-la-Neuve (1993-1994); AT&T Bell Laboratories (1989-1990).
My research is on microeconomic theory: organizations and complexity, game theory, decision making, bounded rationality, and more recently international trade, health insurance, pension reform, and other topics on public policy.
