Always love your articles Alasdair. The question I always have at the end of them is - the U.S. won't just sit back and let this happen, right? They won't just allow their dollar (and influence) to fade into oblivion. What is their response? Do they try to hamstring Russia and China by edging them into making geopolitical mistakes? Does the U.S. engage directly with Russia/China via war (not a proxy war)? I agree that sound money principles are a good thing, but I just don’t see this happening in a very nice/smooth way.
