My recent work includes editing books for a large U.S. publishing company and their highly satisfied end-clients (i.e., the authors); writing a novel; writing a guide to personal finance covering investing, retirement, insurance and financial planning; ghostwriting a book on a sensitive geopolitical topic for which confidentiality has been requested; ghosting articles for the CEO of a fintech startup; writing a USAID-funded report on social and behavior change communications targeting low-income countries; producing an investment podcast series for Seeking Alpha sponsored by Janus Henderson and targeting financial advisors.
Before becoming an independent writer and editor, I worked at Seeking Alpha, where for four years I served as the investment site’s senior editor for financial advisor content as well as one of a small handful of podcast producers developing original content targeting financial advisors. Earlier, I served for 18 consecutive years as the editor-in-chief of a trade publication targeting financial advisors, Research Magazine (now ThinkAdvisor.com), for which the New York State Society of CPAs twice awarded me its prestigious Excellence in Financial Journalism Award.
In a still earlier phase of my career, I worked as an international radio broadcaster for Voice of America (VOA), where I covered news events throughout the developing world, with two of my three years there on the Africa desk. These credits, plus bachelor’s and master’s degrees in foreign policy areas, four non-fiction books on Judaic and geopolitical topics (and two works of fiction) have facilitated my taking on non-business writing projects.
