Emily Chasan is Senior Vice President, ESG & Sustainability Communications at Citi, where she manages Citi’s external and internal communications efforts supporting its ESG, sustainability and net zero priorities. She also supports Enterprise Services and Public Affairs communications for real estate and global headquarters. Prior to the role, she was director of communications for Generate Capital, a sustainable infrastructure investment and operating company focused on climate solutions. A long-time financial journalist, Emily was the first sustainable finance editor at Bloomberg News, where she pioneered the news organization’s coverage of ESG, sustainability and impact investing. She wrote and edited Bloomberg Green’s weekly Good Business newsletter on the frontiers of sustainable and responsible investing. She has also been a contributing editor for GreenBiz Group’s GreenFin newsletter and a frequent co-host on The Energy Gang podcast. Earlier in her career, Emily was a senior editor at The Wall Street Journal's CFO Journal, and a senior correspondent at Reuters where she covered accounting, law, hedge funds, manufacturing, and the U.S. stock market. She led the Reuters team of bankruptcy reporters during the financial crisis from 2008 to 2010.
