Nice article but misleading. The reason the Saudi's (and others) are investing in renewable energy systems is not because of domestic demand but rather because in the very near future they won't be allowed to extract the oil, no matter how much is within their kingdom. The agreement coming later this year will set to limit world temp rise to less than two degrees C to do this we all have to reduce our carbon footprint by burning less fossil fuel (oil, coal etc) so the stuff will just have to stay in the ground. Better to invest all those billions now and get ahead of the game. Have you taken a look at China recently?
