Years ago, Matt Drudge's "Drudge Report" was a source of news that we turned to day and night. He was nothing more than a "news aggregator," who provided links to news stories globally that we could scan quickly and absorb.[2]
Perhaps the key attraction was that he was "unbiased," or possibly leaned to the Right. He went on to have his own TV show, and seemed to live a monastic life, based largely in conservative South Florida.
Then, everything changed. Reportedly, the Drudge Report was sold, and Drudge seemed to disappear; and the right-wing slant went with him. It was if he was dead and buried. The Drudge Report became a Leftist "rag," and lots of us stopped using it completely.
Fast forward to today, and the always-enterprising Donald Trump and his White House have launched the "Trump Wire," which effectively borrows the Drudge Report format in setting forth its news.[3] Needless to say, the MAGA faithful are likely to flock to it.
Like Vladimir Lenin[4], Drudge rises from the dead and is reincarnated as a Trumpster!
