Food. Americans hate making it but love eating it. More than 1 out of 4 Americans can’t cook and, for the first time, they’re spending more on eating out in restaurants than on groceries. In January 2019, restaurant sales were $5 billion more than groceries. So, seeing that on average restaurant meals are about 3 times as expensive as normal groceries, you should learn to cook.
The most important part of any kitchen is food safety. A couple basics of food safety are: wash your hands, surfaces and before and after handling food, separate raw meat from eggs at the store and at home and use a dedicated cutting surface for raw meat, food must be cooked all the way through in all places so check different spots to see if it’s ready, and make sure to put food in the fridge fast - within 2 hours of cooking at the most.
Temperature matters when it comes to food. Use a food thermometer to endure food has reached a safe temperature, calibrate your thermometer by putting in ice water to see to it that it remains accurate, and keep food at the right temperature until ready to serve.
