Analyzing Private Real Estate Investments Vs. Public REIT Valuation

Thank you for your comment. I believe there is too much focus on the negativity of private equity firms driving up prices as well as “gentrification” of neighborhoods. We are building a fund to invest in acquiring vacant homes in distressed neighborhoods to provide housing for people recovering from substance abuse, mental health issues or formerly incarcerated, as well as foster care children who have aged out of the system. There are plenty of opportunities to do well by doing good, and the gentrification of private equity firms still leaves plenty of distressed neighborhoods ½ mile away that need a kind heart and the focus of impact investors.
