There have been massive closings and lawsuits against Burger King[2], and it's not surprising. The chain should be shut down permanently, with no remorse.
I was traveling, and went to a Burger King in Fairfield, California on February 12, 2025. It was raining hard, and the food was tasty and fine. However, I was charged twice for my order.
The first charge was posted to my card on February 13, 2025; and a duplicate charge was posted on February 14, 2025, after I had left the area. I was told by my card company that it would probably "fall off," but it didn't and hasn't.
I figured that it might have been an honest mistake, and tried to reach the Fairfield location, but its phone is "out of order." Next, I reported the issue to Burger King nationally, which was the worst experience of all.
After completing an online survey, I was given a "Validation Code," which I thought would give me a free meal, or at least result in a refund of the double payment. Wrong again.
I have spent more time dealing with Burger King's national representatives than this whole episode is worth. But if I can get ripped off as easily as I did, it will happen to you or someone you know.
When a national chain like Burger King rips off its customers with ease, and then scoffs at them, it has ceased to serve its customers and deserves to be boycotted forever.
