US Daily Cash Deficit
As expected revenues have pulled back to even as last year’s TARP revenue failed to come through this year….not a surprise.
US Daily Cash Deficit
There are 8 business days remaining with the most interesting aside from the last day of the month looking to be Wednesday 11/26, when we get the final large SS payment of the month.
US Daily Cash Deficit
Not a lot of change yet… Revenues are at $-1B and outlays are at $-37B.
US Daily Cash Deficit
There’s not a lot of excitement on the schedule for the rest of the month…it should just be a slow build up to a ~$75B or so deficit.
United States Daily Cash Deficit
Outlays are off a lot…down $40B, but I would guess $30B is timing….the costs that were pulled into October, and $10B is the missing day.
US Cash Deficit October 2014
So revenues posted their second consecutive month of strong revenues in the +10% range….very interesting. If we see it continue through November and December we may have something to be optimistic about….maybe.

For the month, revenues are looking solid at +7% an poised to pick up some more by month end.

After a flat start, October is shaping up quite well with revenues at +$14B (+8%) and outlays down -$5B, though they will almost certainly end up higher thanks to an extra day and month end timing.

The US Daily Cash Deficit for Tuesday, was $2.0B bringing the October 2014 deficit through 21 days to $50B and the 2014 YTD through 295 days to $484B. Very little YOY change on the day, so let’s take a look at our new charts…

The US Daily Cash Surplus for Monday 10/20/2014 was $15.2B bringing the October 2014 deficit through 20 days back down to $48B.
US Daily Cash Deficit
We are now more or less back in sync for revenues as $9B of corporate taxes came through for the day putting us on pace to beat 2013 in that category by 10%. It’s not on par with last month’s 29% YOY gain, and it’s only about $1B, but hey…we’ll take it.
US Daily Cash Deficit
We are still taking small steps backward, though some of it is likely timing. At least they are small…we have plenty of time left in the month for revenues to come back and hit that 5%+ target we are looking for.
US Daily Cash Deficit
The US daily Cash Deficit for Thursday 10/9/2014 was $5.8B bringing the October 2014 deficit through 9 days to $60B through 9 days.
US Daily Cash Deficit
The US Daily Cash Deficit for Tuesday was $4.8B following Monday’s $5.4B surplus, leaving the October 2014 deficit through 7 days at $50B.

Forecasting this month is a bit tricky. First, we are coming off a pretty good month….was it a one time anomaly or will it continue?
US Daily Cash Surplus September 2014
It was an interesting month….Revenues were up 9.5% on solid corporate taxes and excise taxes. Outlays on the other hand were up 10.3%, mostly due to timing that shifted $18B from August to September but also bonafide growth, including Medicaid up 31%….$6.6B.
