This won’t be long. Everyone knows the arguments. Roe v. Wade may not have been the best legal decision in history, but it was the law of the land for 50 years. It protected basic human rights and fostered better reproductive healthcare for women. Most Americans agreed with the broad guidelines of Roe as it threaded the needle between the rights and health of the mother versus the increasing viability of the fetus. The idea that individual states can now infringe on those rights and endanger the lives of women based on little more than religious fundamentalism and demographic randomness is insidious.
Donald Trump has taken credit for and is proud of the overturning of Roe. A goal of Project 2025, which will be the effective blueprint for a Trump presidency, seeks to nationalize abortion bans and drastically limit or eliminate pharmaceutical options.
As an orthodox Jew I’ll share the additional point that, while there’s a range of opinions, it’s well within normative Jewish law that abortion more or less aligns with Roe. The Catholic strictures that the anti-abortion movement are based on are far more restrictive than the most stringent of Judaism’s rulings, thus draconian anti-abortion laws often infringe on the religious freedom of even orthodox Jews.
I understand that there’s a myriad of issues that drive the decisions of voters. If you are, or have a woman in your life who is, of childbearing age then this issue should be near the top of your list. While Donald Trump, a serial sexual predator, is now desperately feigning concern about women’s health and has made a desperate, last minute head fake regarding a federal abortion ban, he’s on record as saying that women should be “punished” for having abortions and is beholden to those who hold the most fanatic positions in the issue.
Kamala Harris, on the other hand, has made protecting women’s reproductive freedom a cornerstone of her campaign. She will certainly have an uphill battle in achieving her goal of establishing a federal law to enshrine these rights, but at least she’ll stand as a bulwark against a further slide into the dystopian nightmare that a Trump presidency could inflict on the women of the United States.
Below are several videos by the indefatigable Lincoln Project.
Scene’s like the one depicted below are already occurring in some anti-abortion states like Texas where women have died due to delayed treatment by healthcare professionals who fear running afoul of the state’s draconian laws.
Some states, like Idaho and Tennessee have enacted abortion trafficking laws making it illegal to bring minors to other states to get an abortion. Many other states are considering such laws. Other states are attempting to build databases surrounding women’s reproductive health. All serving to make the dramatization below not quite as farfetched as you might think.
And this video is very simply a heart wrenching appeal to MAGA dads regarding their daughters’ future.
If you agree with any of this, please share these videos widely. Time is of the essence.

Trump couldn't read it! It's 900 pages. 😀
Here's a few bullet points:
I agree with you completely. But it's hard for a lot of people to worry about "what ifs" that mightt affect them or other people, when issues like the cost of groceries and how much they pay at the pump affect every one, every day, right now.
