Unbelievable

Date: Wednesday, September 11, 2024 5:57 PM EST

At lunch time i watched about the first half hour of last evening's debate.  Now, at happy hour i have been watching the second half hour of the debate.

-----

Now here is my reading of what i saw for myself (with some earlier expectations that i heard from the pundits--from both sides.

------

First of all, the fight did not turn out exactly like i predicted.  Although there may have been some punches made in the first half hour, i simply didn't see anything that really connected.

But then, around time period 28 minutes in--everything changed.  I have never seen anything like it.  Let's call the next thirty minutes or so, the "second period" out of three.

Historians could play the "second period" of last night's debate and it would explain "el trumpo's" complete downfall.  El Trumpo looked and acted deranged through the entire second period.  It was like watching a crazy man, trying to convince you that he is not crazy!

And then, on the other side of the screen, you actually see someone with poise, intelligence, confidence, values, etc.

------

Honestly, as i was watching this i was thinking of my brother, who knows better but was probably supporting el trumpo.  And i thought in my mind, knowing my brother, and i said to myself, that if he was watching the debate last night, he must finally have been converted.  My brother is not stupid. (He simply lives in SC and is of the in the Nikki Haley ilk--and you know what that means).  But after last night, i don't think he wants to end up being put into the "stupid category".

------

Although the second period (i.e., approximately the period between 28 - 63 minutes) should be enough to make this an 80 - 20 election, i know that it won't.  But just the same.  I simply don't see how this can be seen as a 50 - 50 election going forward.

Kamala did better in my mind than the pundits even gave her credit for.  But that is okay, because most of the pundits praised her performance.  But from my view, Kamala is Yeol Eun Son on the piano, and that is pretty damn good, whatever music she decides to play.

El Trumpo looked crazed!  There is no other term for it!  He is a "mad man"!

------

ps.  And this is a "big ps".  The commentators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, were excellent in managing a fairly difficult situation.  I have always liked both of those commentators--it's my go to night news place if i decide to watch the nightly news.  No one will give them the credit they deserve, but i was amazed at how professionally both commentators were throughout the first two periods of the three-period debate.

ps2.  I think i will save the "third period" for some time tomorrow.  I really don't expect that it will change my feeling or understanding towards the debate.  The second period was enough to convince me that Kamala Harris is going to be the next President of the United States.

ps.  And i thank Goodness for that.

So did your brother switch parties?

Trump certainly did sound crazy.  Especially when he said that illegal aliens eat Americans' pets.  Of course now he has shared photographic proof to prove he was right:
