Linda's Feedback

Date: Tuesday, November 30, 2021 5:43 AM EST

Excuse me before i get to the subject of this post. Due to previous comments i have received from some of my Talkmarkets' followers, i plan to start this and any future post with a little bookkeeping. Now here is that bookkeeping: If you would like to purchase a copy of my new book, Globanomics, click on "Globonomics" up by my picture on this post where it says "Contributor Links".

Now on to the subject at hand--Linda's Feedback.

As a way to get "feedback" on some of my thinking, i sometimes copy a post and send it out to family, friends, associates, reporters, etc.  I have been doing this kind of thing "on and off" for about twenty-years now.  Over that time, i have received all kinds of important and relevant feedback.  I must admit though that some of the feedback has not been positive--i have even lost some friends in the process--and they will never to be recovered again.

But probably the most important feedback i get is from Linda.  And yesterday, Linda said that she "wished i would quit blogging--she says she doesn't even know the person who is blogging now."

Mmmff.  Heck, i do not even like being the person who has been blogging these past few days (i.e., bitchy, braggadocious, begging, etc.--my words, btw, not linda's).  Those posts were counter to everything that i truly believe.  I won't take them back though.  I cannot anyway--they are already part of the cloud.

In Globanomics early in the Preface i wrote: "People may not be flocking to read what I have to say today but it's funny because i do not care.  My words will remain out there just the same--whether they are read by three people or three million people.  My words are my legacy, and i will die a happy man knowing that is the case."

Now anyone who has been reading my most recent posts would have to conclude that i was lying when i wrote the above--and i would have no basis to argue back.  It seems that i do care whether the number of readers is three million in lieu of three--and for the life of me that makes me think Linda's feedback is "right on."

And for that reason, i have decided to limit any future blogging to "current issues" or "whimsical thoughts".  I will start each blog with my "introductory paragraph" mentioning my book, Globanomics, but other than that i have no intention to mention the book again in any future blog.

ps.  And as of right now this morning, i cannot think of a "current issue" that i want to blog about (things do seem okay), nor do i have any "whimsical thoughts" to add to my followers' own whimsical lives.

I assume Linda is your wife? I think it's nice that you value her feedback so much.  And I think you have the right attitude about this.  You are putting your thoughts out there... if people read them, great.  If not, you won't lose sleep over it.  You have the right attitude - Life is too short!  Now go take your wife out for a nice brunch to show her that you appreciate her.
