Muckraker of the Financial System
The Fed knew about the housing bubble before it burst but lied and said they didn't: Bill HR 1424 to buy bad paper (eventually called TARP) was introduced in March 9, 2007, before there began to be bad commercial paper from private subprime RE loans, in August. I have published on two other ...more

But Charles, if there was not any debt, how would bankers make any money? Living at or beneath one's means is anathema to the banking community.

Dangerous Road Ahead! Exercise Care..The Assets You Save Could Be Your Could Be Your Own

It would be great if we could actually measure how much of that debt is being used as an asset, the new gold, as collateral in various markets. I assume the elite would say that the amount being counted as an asset offsets the debt itself. I suppose you could even say that all the debt becomes assets but much of it is not being used as currency.

I suppose the bailouts of banks is sterilized, meaning it is being offset by slow growth, and little bank lending. There is no helicopter money, which would be great to help all citizens and ultimately help the banks and the real economy.

Great News For Gold Bugs: The COT Report Is Playing Out As Usual, Which Means Lower – Then Much Higher – Prices Coming

Don't know that much about gold. Market is no doubt huge. Gold now can be used as collateral in derivatives markets. Not sure that is profitable or even widespread. Not sure how it would affect prices.

Has Gold Lost Its Glimmer?

I am quite sure that failure to Brexit will eventually end the pound, and UK sovereignty over its military. I am sure that ultimately, pegging the pound to the Euro will reflect weakness of the Eurozone and growth will be hard to come by. I can't imagine most nations wanting this, along with the NIRP that they would have to accept. The Euro was a bad idea but the Eurozone will push for the single European State, maybe before 2025. Are the Brits ready for all that will bring?

I have thought he is a carnival barker. Musk will do anything to get more money, IMO. He says he wants to colonize Mars. But it is 40 years in the future. I was hoping he would speed it up so he would go away himself! Just kidding. But in all seriousness, we don't need self driving cars, we can't trust them, and even a world full of electric cars will make massive millions of people expendable as human beings. And globalists have spoken of liquidating up to 90 percent of the population. Everything Musk does except his real current business of selling cars and shooting rockets, speaks to this ultimate liquidation. This is my opinion, but he has twice warned that manually driven cars should be banned. The guy is a problem for freedom, for US autonomy, and for patriotism. I don't trust him and no American really should.

Yellen: Deeper Down The Rabbit Hole We Go

Gary, Yellen is admitting a shortage of bonds. They are used as collateral. So, the BOJ owns 60 percent of Japanese ETF's. I made a joke that the BOJ could by all the fish in the sea, or maybe even a galaxy or two and they would still experience deflation. But clearly, Yellen is telling the truth, there are not enough long bonds to buy. Gary, helicopter money would be better than buying up all the assets in the world. But banks will die if assets fall precipitously.

Why We’ll Need A Universal Basic Income

I think that funding UBI by profits would likely make robots unprofitable. They would probably take them offshore. Eventually, when there are no people to buy the products, some startups will come along employing people.

Some globalists have publicly advocated a culling of the human population. With electric cars and robots, their evil dreams could be realized.

Yeah, we have demographic shortages, but keep young Mexicans who want to work their butts off out people say. We are almost as stupid as Europe and Japan when it comes to finding young people willing to work hard.

Tapering was also just hype. Lots of people believed Greenspan and others that yields would and should go up. That was hype, as much as it was hope. People believed the maestro, but he knew the conundrum was still in place, IMO. And the conundrum was easily explained, people want bonds for safety and for collateral. You can't have enough bonds for collateral.

Don’t Bet On Deflation Lasting Forever

I don't think Japan will print money that is unsterilized. Deflation will last forever.
