He is an Investment Committee member and is responsible for sourcing and executing credit and platform investments, in addition to setting fund strategy across the firm’s private credit investment products.
Ed has 15 years of investing experience in the private markets. Prior to joining Pennington Partners & Co., he was a Special Partner at Strike Capital Management, a New York-based specialty finance investment firm where he was focused on illiquid and asset-backed lending opportunities. Before joining Strike, Ed spent 12 years at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, most recently serving as Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee member for Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners’ opportunistic credit business, including comingled funds and related separate accounts, and IC member for the balance of the global investment portfolios. Ed has led or participated in transactions across classes of credit including those in specialty finance, corporate credit, venture finance, mezzanine, mortgage credit, and stressed/ distressed. Earlier in his Morgan Stanley career, he also focused on private equity investments across the group’s primary, secondary and co-investment programs. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Ed worked for Sterling Partners, a mid-stage growth equity firm, and for Toronto-Dominion in M&A. He began his career as a consultant at Accenture.
Ed earned his Bachelor of Arts from University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ed works out of the Firm’s New York and Washington D.C offices. He is a native Philadelphian where he lives with his wife, dog, and three children.
