Concerns of a bear market retracement are predicated on a credit-related issue, like, for example, the banking sector crisis. But Markets have now retraced over 78% of the decline from the peak of January 2022. Historically, when markets make certain retracements through various levels of resistance (at which they can typically fail), and clear those levels, markets typically move higher. Beyond the 78% mark, there's no historic precedent for markets not hitting all-time highs. Notwithstanding, that does not mean a correction won't happen somewhere along the way. If markets do achieve another all-time high, possibly before the end of the year, or in early 2024, that will validate the correction that occurred in 2022.
