Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Opera Ltd. (OPRA) provides web browsers
Its products include Opera browsers for Windows, iOS, and Linux computers, as well as mobile apps Opera for Android: Opera Mini, Opera Touch, and Opera News.
Three key data points gauge Opera Ltd or any dividend-paying entity, namely:
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.
OPRA Price
Opera’s share price fell xx% last year from $18.63 to $13.54 per Wednesday’s market price.
Seven analysts cover the stock. The median of their one-year target estimates was $25.50, a $11.96 jump.
Historically, however, Opera's price grew at a $2.87 average increase per year over the past 3 years.
Therefore, I’m tempering my upside estimate to $5.46, which puts the target price at $19.00.
OPRA Dividends
Opera has paid variable semi-annual $0.40 dividends since February 2023.
The current forward-looking annual dividend of $0.80 yields 5.9% as of Wednesday’s share price.
OPRA Returns
Putting it all together, a $6.26 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding OPRA’s annual $0.80 dividend to my historic-tempered estimated $5.46 annual price gain.
A little over $1000 invested at Wednesday’s $13.54 share price would buy 74 shares which, multiply the $6.26 estimated gross gain to $462.33 for the coming year.
About 12.8% of that $462 gain comes from the annual $59.10 dividend generated from your $1,000 investment.
Furthermore, the $59.10 annual dividend income from $1,000 invested is about 4.4 times greater than the recent $13.54 single-share price.
(A dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pay an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)
4.4 is greater than 1.
Therefore, you could choose to pounce on Opera Ltd with its dividend payout of about 4.4 times the single share price.
The exact track of OPRA’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
