Founded by Yehuda Kahane, Eyal Sheratzky and Izzy Sheratzky in February 1994 and headquartered in Azour, Israel, Ituran Location & Control (ITRN) provides stolen vehicle recovery, fleet management, and tracking services.
It operates through (1) Telematics Services and (2) Telematics Products segments.
Three key data points gauge ITRN or any dividend paying entity, namely:
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.
ITRN Price
Ituran’s share price grew 33.8% last year from $28.02 to $37.50 per Tuesday’s market price.
Two analysts cover the stock. The median of their one-year target estimates was $47.00, a $9.50 jump.
Historically, however ITRN price grew at a $1.57 average increase per year over the past 10 years.
Therefore, I’m tempering my upside estimate to $6.50 which puts the target price at $44.00.
ITRN Dividends
Ituran has paid variable quarterly dividends since June 2012.
The current forward-looking annual dividend of $2.00 yields 5.33% as of Tuesday’s share price.
ITRN Returns
Putting it all together, a $8.50 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding ITRN’s annual $2.00 dividend to my historic-tempered estimated $6.50 annual price gain.
A little over $1000 invested at Tuesday’s $37.50 share price would buy 27 shares which, multiply the $8.50 estimated gross gain to $226.67 for the coming year.
About 23.5% of that $227 gain comes from the annual $53.30 dividend generated from your $1,000 investment.
Furthermore, the $53.30 annual dividend income from $1,000 invested is over 1.4 times greater than the recent $37.50 single-share price.
(A dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pay an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)
1.4 is greater than 1.
Therefore, you could choose to pounce on Ituran Location and Control with its dividend payout of about 1.4 times the single share price.
The exact track of ITRN’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
