Incorporated in 1941 and headquartered in Osaka, Japan, Nippon Shokubai Co Ltd (NSHKF) manufactures and sells chemical products in Japan and internationally.
It operates in two segments: Materials Business and Solutions Business.
Three key data points gauge NSHKF or any dividend paying entity, namely:
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.
NSHKF Price
Nippon Shobukai’s price stayed flat at $10.33 per Wednesday’s market.
No analysts cover the stock to set a one year target.
Historically, however, NSHKF share price grew at a $1.32 average increase per year over the past 2 years.
Which puts the target price at $11.64.
NSHKF Dividends
Nippon Shokubai has paid variable semi-annual dividends since May, 1991 to December 2024.
It has declared a two dividends totaling $0.69 for 2025 but made no payments.
NSHKF Returns
Putting it all together, a hypothetical $2.01 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding NSHKF’s annual $0.69 dividend to the history-based estimate of $1.32 annual price gain.
A little over $1000 invested at Wednesday’s $10.33 share price would buy 97 shares which, multiply the $1.32 estimated price-only gain to $128.04 for the coming year.
None of that $128 gain comes from an annual dividend, since none has been paid.
(The dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pay an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)
No dividend. No buy.
Therefore, do not pounce on NSHKF until it restores a dividend schedule.
The exact track of NSHKF’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.
Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
