Cannabis Central: "Momentum" Pot Stocks Out-Performed The Sector Again Last Week

This article highlights the performance of 14 non-penny pot stocks that are up year-to-date. These winners represent only 4% of all 300+ cannabis stocks so it suggests they are being well managed and executing their respective business plans in such a manner as to have the confidence of serious marijuana stock investors and, as such, deserve your consideration.

  • 300+ cannabis stocks trade on the various Canadian and American stock exchanges and they, collectively, were DOWN 1.3% w/e June 19th and are DOWN, on average, by 24.4% year-to-date (YTD).
  • 36 of those 300+ (i.e. 12%) are non-penny stocks (i.e. trading actively and consistently above US$1/share) making up the constituents of the Non-penny Pot Stock Index (NPSI) and they were UP 4.1%, on average, last week (w/e June 19th) and are UP 1.7%, on average, YTD.
  • 14 of those 36 are 'momentum" stocks given that they are UP 21.7% YTD, on average, and continue showing positive momentum going UP 6.2%, on average, this past week. These "momentum" stocks:
    • outperformed the total cannabis stock universe of 300+ stocks by +6.2% to -1.3%
    • outperformed the remaining 22 non-momentum NPSI stocks +6.2% vs. -1.8%

Given the above you can understand my concentration on the very few winners in the cannabis stock sector. The details of their performance last week, in descending order, are as follows:

  1. Zynerba (ZYNE) +24.5%; N/C YTD
  2. GrowGeneration (GRWG) +11.4%; +78.3% YTD
