$5K – $20K Gold Coming? These 22 Pundits Think So
10 years ago every "analyst" and his brother was hyping the future price of gold and I kept track of their guesses in an article. None of their forecasts "panned" out (pun intended) back then, but many are back at it again suggesting that we are going to see gold going as high as $20,000.
Here are their latest estimates:
- Goldrunner: $20,000
- "Our price target back in 2006/2007 for gold was in the $10,000 to $12,000 range but now, as a result of the recent massive paper money printing, we have had to lengthen the "time component" and the "time delays" in our chart work which suggests that gold could possibly spike up to as high as $20,000 per ounce, or even a bit higher."
- Pierre Lassonde: $20,000 (in 2 - 5 years)
- "Gold prices should skyrocket to much higher levels, even $20,000 in two to five years’ time, as gold reaches a price level close to the level of the Dow Jones Industrial Index."
- Przemyslaw Radomski: $6,250 - $12,000 - $25,000
- "Gold is likely to rally at least to $6,250...[and possibly] north of $25,000...[but] a more moderate target...[puts] gold at about $12,000."
- Jean-Marie Eveillard: $15,000
- "Gold is a substitute currency, and I look at the enormous amount of paper that continues to be issue by the Fed and the ECB, and as long as they keep printing enormous amounts of paper, I think gold cannot be overvalued. In terms of the backing that would be necessary for the enormous amount of paper that has already been issued...gold should be at $15,000 an ounce.” Source
- Michael Pento: $10,000
- "It wouldn’t surprise me if gold eventually goes to $10,000 an ounce or even higher because there is no limit to the productive capacity of central bankers to produce currency. I think it would be more surprising if gold didn’t go to $10,000 an ounce. When the US dollar loses its world reserve currency status and the US bond market collapse is in full swing, a $10,000 gold price may prove to be very conservative.”
- Nick Barisheff: $10,000
- "I am often asked how high will the price of gold go, and do I still think it will hit $10,000 per troy ounce...and the conditions detailed in my book are still very much in place."
- James Rickards: $10,000
- "My long-term forecast is for $10,000 gold."
- Frank Holmes: $10,000
- "What’s stopping gold from soaring to $10,000?"
- Daniel Oliver: $10,000
- "The money to push gold over $10,000 per ounce has already been printed and now they are going to print more...No doubt
strong fiscal and monetary intervention may extend its life for a time, but then the ultimate price objective for gold will be markedly higher."
- "The money to push gold over $10,000 per ounce has already been printed and now they are going to print more...No doubt
- AG Thorson: $7,000 - $10,000
- "By the end of this decade, we expect gold to reach $7,500 – $10,000".
- Peter Schiff: $5,000 to $10,000
- The minimum projection for the price of gold is $5,000 to $10,000 an ounce with gold and the Dow trading at even money.
- Gov Capital: $5,837 by 2023; $7,220 by 2024; $8,531 by 2025
- "5 year gold forecast: $8530.74"
- Charlie Morris: $7,166
- "A bullish target for $7,166 is both logical and plausible."
- Jeff Clark: $3,000 to $8,000 in 5 years
- "Potential 5-Year high: $3,000 to $8,000."
- Rob McEwen: $5,000
- The founder of Goldcorp Inc. predicts that gold will soar almost fourfold to $5,000 an ounce, bolstered by a weaker dollar and waning demand for trendy assets like pot stocks.
- Victor Dergunov: $5,000 in 3-5 years
- "Gold at $5,000 in 3-5 years seems plausible, and it is likely to continue to go higher after that."
- David Morgan: $5,000
- "Gold could hit $5,000 an ounce in the decade ahead, especially as the greenback loses purchasing power."
- Moe Zulfiqar: $5,000 by 2030
- " It wouldn't be shocking to see gold at $5,000 an ounce or more by 2030."
- Brian Whitfield: $5,000 by 2030
- "I feel I am safe, and being conservative, in saying that gold should be trading between $3,000 – $5,000 per ounce in ten years. Should the US dollar fail and/or the US dollar loses the coveted global reserve currency status and/or even the loss of the petrodollar, gold could hit these levels far sooner."
- Gary Christenson: $3,000 – $5,000 (2020 to 2022)
- "$3,000 – $5,000 per ounce is quite possible at some time between 2020 – 2022."
- Geraldo Del Real: $3,000 to $5,000
- “I actually think US$3,000 to US$5,000 is very reasonable.”
- Thomas Kaplan: $3,000 to $5,000 by 2030
- Gold prices could rally to $3,000 to $5,000 within a decade.
