When you are empowered to know what a business is worth, you can then confidently invest in that business knowing that you will participate fully in the results it produces. If you overpay, you take on more risk and turn a great company into a mediocre or even losing investment. Conversely, if you can buy it at a bargain you can earn more than even the company generates on your behalf.
