Average US wealth exceeds $700,000 per adult, more than double Western European levels.

Average wealth per adult in the U.S. is close to $700,000, more than twice the average wealth of Western Europeans and over 16 times that of Southeast Asians. However, this wide gap is largely driven by the concentration of ultra-wealthy individuals in the U.S., where many of the world’s millionaires and billionaires reside. These fortunes significantly pull up the average, making it less representative of the typical American household.
