Average annual spending varies significantly across age groups. Housing remains the largest spending category for both 35–44-year-olds and those aged 75+, accounting for 41.7% and 40.7% of total spending, respectively. Healthcare, however, becomes far more significant with age, representing 15.8% of spending among those 75+, more than twice the share for 35–44-year-olds. Food and transportation also remain major expenses, although their share of total spending declines modestly among older households.
