Home Depot Stock: What To Expect From Earnings Tuesday

While analyst expectations remain modest, recent peer beats and a pulled-back valuation could signal a recovery path for the stock.

Home Depot (HD) is set to report fiscal second-quarter earnings Tuesday morning, and expectations are modest at best.

The consensus EPS estimate stands at $4.73, which is just 1% above the same period last year. Revenue is expected to come in at $47.2 billion, representing 4.4% year-on-year growth.

HD stock is currently trading around $338.70, down roughly 15% over the past year and slightly lower since the start of 2026.

The stock’s average analyst price target is around $376, putting it about 13% above the current price. Just over half of analysts tracked by FactSet remain bullish on the stock.

The housing market continues to weigh on results. The affordability crisis has kept fewer Americans moving, which is the main driver of big home-improvement spending.

Foot traffic data backs that up. Overall visits and average foot traffic per location fell in Q2, according to Placer. That has left investors expecting more of the same sluggish performance.

There is also a management overhang. The CEO announced a medical leave of absence last week, which has made some investors cautious heading into the print.

How Peers Have Performed

Home Depot’s peers in the home furnishing and improvement segment have offered some mixed but mostly encouraging signals.

Floor and Decor (FND) posted year-on-year revenue growth of 3%, beating estimates by 1.6%, and its stock rose 4.1% after results. Arhaus (ARHS) reported revenue up 7.4%, topping estimates by 4.9%, and its stock jumped 16.6%.

The broader home furnishing and improvement retail group has seen stock prices rise an average of 3.3% over the past month. Home Depot has gained 1.7% in that same stretch.

Home Depot’s Recent Track Record

Last quarter, Home Depot reported revenues of $41.77 billion, up 4.8% year on year. It narrowly beat EPS estimates but slightly missed on gross margin.

Analysts have largely held their estimates steady over the past 30 days, suggesting they expect no major surprises from Tuesday’s report.

Home Depot has a history of beating Wall Street expectations. A repeat of its Q1 performance, which came in better than expected, could help the stock recover some lost ground.

The stock’s valuation has pulled back following its underperformance over the past year, which some analysts view as a more reasonable entry point.

Tuesday’s report will cover the fiscal second quarter. Home Depot stock is down roughly 15% over the trailing 12 months heading into the print, with the current price sitting around $338.70.
