The company was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Vaughan, Canada.

Martinrea International, Inc. (MRETF) is a global automotive supplier that designs, develops, and manufactures highly engineered, value-added Lightweight Structures and Propulsion Systems.

Three key data points gauge MRETF (or any dividend-paying entity):

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

MRETF Price

Martinrea’s single share price grew $0.94 (or about 15%) from $6.21 to $7.15 in the past year, per Wednesday’s opening market report.

No analysts cover the stock. However, the MRETF's past six-year price history shows an average $0.37 annual price gain, which I’ll use for its annual return after I discuss dividends.

MRETF Dividends

Martinrea has paid quarterly dividends since April 2020. The latest Q, July 15th (to shareholders on record as of June 30th), yielding 2.06% annually (per Wednesday’s opening market report)

MRETF Returns

Putting it all together, as of July 15th, a possible gross gain of $0.52 was projected. The $0.37 per share historic annual gain was added to the $0.1472 forward-looking annual dividend to make a $0.52 gross gain.

A little under $1000 invested in MRETF at Wednesday’s $7.15 opening share price would buy 140 shares, which multiply the $0.52 gross gain to $72.72 for the coming year, or about 7.25%.

My dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a dividend stock that pay an annual dividend (from $1000 invested) that is greater than the cost of one share.

MRETFs projected annual dividend from $1K invested is $20.60. As MRETFF shows, an annual dividend from $1,000 invested at a $7.15 price proves to be 2.88 times its recent single share price.

The exact track of MRETF’s future share price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
