Cannabis Central: All But 2 Of 29 NPSI Constituents Declined On Wednesday

The Non-Penny Pot Stock Index (NPSI) declined 3.2% on Wednesday with only 1 of the 29 constituents going UP, 27 going DOWN and 1 having no change in price. In addition, all 7 of the sector categories declined. The details are below.

As mentioned previously, the pot stock universe has 400+ pure-play and ancillary securities listed on the various Canadian and American stock exchanges of which only about 300 actively trade. Of those only 29 trade for at least US$1/share and, as such, are included in my proprietary Non-penny Pot Stock Index. If one excludes the 2 major ancillary constituents, GW Pharmaceuticals and the Innovative Industrial Properties REIT, the remaining "pure-play" constituents are DOWN just 1.3%. 

6 constituents declined by 5% or more, namely:

1. XPhyto Therapeutics (XPHYF) -10%
2. Charlotte's Web (CWBHF) -7.9%
3. New Age Beverages (NBEV) -7.4%
4. cbdMD (YCBD) -5.4%
5. Neptune Wellness (NEPT) -5.3%
6. Greenlane (GNLN) -5.1%

No constituents advanced by 5% or more. Indeed, only 1 constituent, Aurora (ACB), actually went UP on Wednesday and it was only by 0.66%.

The constituents operate within 7 categories, based on their primary area of focus in the cannabis industry and the constituents within each category are identified below with how each of the categories performed on Wednesday:

2. Extraction Category -3.2%
   • 2 constituents are in this category, namely: NEPT and VLNCF
3. BioPharma Category: -2.8%
   • 2 constituents are in this category, namely: GWPH  and XPHYF
4. Marijuana-Infused Products Category: -7.4%
   • 1 constituent is in this category, namely: NBEV
5. Consumption Devices Category: -5.1%
   • 1 constituents is in this category, namely: GNLN
6. Agricultural Technology Category: -3.5%
   • 1 constituent is in this category, namely: VFF
7. Real Estate Category: -4.4%
   • 1 constituent is in this category, namely: IIPR
