The marketplace continues to diverge into two separate markets and it is imperative for your portfolio to understand what bifurcation of markets means.
CSX Corporation reported fourth-quarter 2019 earnings of 99 cents per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 97 cents. However, the bottom line slipped approximately 2% year over year due to lower revenues.
CSX reached a new company record for operating ratio, but this was done primarily through cost controls. The railroad experienced declines in nearly every product category. Shares are expensive, so I am waiting for a pullback.
