Dr. Ivan E. Stux is Chief Investment Officer and President of Stux Capital Management LLC. He is a majority employee shareholder. In his roles, Stux drives product design and strategy for the firm as well as overseeing the investment process, including research, portfolio management and trading. Prior to founding Stux Capital, he was a principal at Morgan Stanley in the Equities Division, where, over most of his sixteen-year career, he served as head of analytical and quantitative research and development for equities, equity derivatives, portfolio trading, and quantitative strategies. In this role, he developed analytically disciplined equity investment strategies for Morgan Stanley's largest institutional clients. He was also responsible for a staff of as many as thirty professionals whom he hired, trained, coached and supervised. For six years prior to Morgan Stanley, Ivan Stux was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co, specializing in product-market strategies and financial management. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of finance and business strategy at Columbia University Graduate School of Business (1977-1979), and prior to that, assistant professor of mathematics in the Mathematics Department of Columbia University (1973-1976). Dr. Stux earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences at New York University, where he received the Jay Krakauer Award for the best science dissertation of the year. He earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from City College of New York.
