I thought that Wall Street liked #Trump?

Thus Begins The End Of The All-Powerful U.S. Economy

I doubt any of us are privy to what China does or doesn't want. But yes, #Trump did start this trade war.

But #Trump told me a #tradewar would be GOOD for America!

Fed Abandons R-Star While Trump Caves In
Gary Anderson 10/4/2018 4:52:46 AM

I agree pretty much with your assessment of #Trump. The caveat to this deal is if Canada gets flack from the US for making a free trade deal with China. Trump thinks he has corralled Canada, but the Canadians don't believe that is the case!

I want to make one correction, Moon. It should read: "Then in a downturn, with the r* too low, it becomes more difficult to use lower interest rates to boost the economy as we approach the zero lower bound."

Unfortunately I wrote high instead of low. Hopefully the context did not confuse too many readers. Raising rates causes the R* to drop. That can cause a problem if the recession comes as rates are being raised and the R* is too low.

A First Look At The US-Mexico-Canada Agreement On Trade
Gary Anderson 10/1/2018 9:51:21 PM

#Trump's base really thought he accomplished something, because, apparently, they are only capable of reading headlines. Good for Canada!

Trump Revenge And The Prediction Of A Soft Landing
Gary Anderson 10/1/2018 9:49:36 PM

Update: while #Trump signed a new #NAFTA agreement called #USMCA, it was a compromise, and really won't make POTUS happy in the long run. Perhaps he saw the need to strengthen his hand against China and Europe. Those may end up in compromise too, but with little change in the status of trade in the world. Or a real trade war will manifest itself.

Chinese Tariffs Unlikely To Hurt US Energy: 4 Top Picks
William K. 9/30/2018 12:24:43 AM

It certainly appears that president #Trump is primarily serving the interests of that top 1%, WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE ME. I knew that this was what he would do, so I did not vote for him. But he is supposed to be working to serve the rest of us 99% folks.

Most Americans didn't. But we are stuck with #Trump as president anyway.

President #Trump, unfortunately, seems often to represent the wishes of himself alone. In the tariff wars he certainly does not represent any of my feelings. I did not vote for him.

The Trump Tariff Put Will Expire Worthless
Moon Kil Woong 9/24/2018 5:06:06 AM

The market is not going up because of a #Trump put, it is going up because of the tax cut without a spending cut. This is called fiscal stimulus and it has negated the rather limited drop in monetary stimulus. If anything, the #tariffs and shenanigance in Washington over Internet regulation is holding the market back. If tariffs are cut and the trade war ends it will be a positive just like if the absurd hearings on #Twitter, #Google, and #Facebook end, that will help those stocks.

If or when this happens is debatable. Certainly if the whole market starts tanking, hopefully both of these will end and the government will focus on their job rather than creating more problems. Unfortunately, this is most likely to happen when the economy turns sour, providing limited relief, but most likely it will not turn the tide by itself.

I think this is foolish of #Trump. His entire trade war will hurt Americans.

Good article @[Harry Dent](user:5932). You ask some important questions. But I believe the biggest wildcard is #Trump's unpredictability. Literally anything can happen.

Greenback's Momentum Stalls

I wouldn't be so sure. I think #Trump would be very happy to cause pain in Turkey. They are now an "enemy." And with the constant anti-American rhetoric coming out of the country, he may likely be right.

Canada’s Auto Exports Weakened In The First Half Of 2018, Trump’s Trade Restrictions Will Make Matters Worse
Alexis Renault 7/31/2018 2:49:10 PM

Lol, I don't think I've ever seen #Trump and "Integrity" used in the same sentence before. But seriously though, whether you dislike the man or not, why would his election cause a decrease in your investments? I was under the impression he was good for the stock market?
