Daily Stock Analysis: The Hackett Group - Nov. 2022

The Hackett Group Inc, has the ticker symbol HCKT. This is my very first report on Hackett for my Viking portfolio. However I have reported on and selected HCKT  for one of my previous seven portfolios.

Three key data points gauge

The Hackett Group, Inc:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

HCKT Price

Hackett’s price per share was $21.51 at Monday’s market close. However, in the past year, Hackett’s share price rose by $0.44 or about 2%.

If Hackett’s stock trades in the range of $15.00 to $30.00 this next year, its recent $20.51 per share price might reach $26.00 by next year. My upside increase estimate of $4.49 is $2.67 under the median of annual price target estimates from three analysts covering HCKT for  brokerages.

HCKT Dividends

Hackett’s most recently declared quarterly dividend of $0.11 per share equals $0.44 annually and  casts a yield of 2.05%.

HCKT Returns

Adding the $0.44 annual HCKT dividend to my one-year price upside estimate of $4.49 shows a $4.93 potential gross gain per share.

At Tuesday’s $21.51 closing price, a little over $1000 would buy 46 shares.

A $10 broker fee (if charged), paid half at purchase and half at sale, might cost us $0.22 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.22 brokerage cost from my estimated $4.93 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $4.71 X 46 shares = $216.66 for a 21.6% net gain including a 2.05% annual yield.

In a year our $1K investment in shares of The Hackett Group, Inc would generate $20.50 in cash dividends. Of course, a single share of HCKT stock at Tuesday's $21.51 share price is over $1.01 more than the annual dividend income from our $1000.00 investment.

So, by my dogcatcher ideal, this is NOT a good time to buy HCKT shares based on their dividends for the year 2022-23. The dividend from $1K invested is $1.01 less than HCKT’s single share price. Consider yourself alerted. Wait for The Hackett Group, Inc share price to drop a dollar to $20.51

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of The Hackett Group, Inc . Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its market value.
