Two Interesting New Magic Formula Stocks This Week
There was not a whole lot of movement in the Magic Formula® Investing (MFI) screens this week, but there were two new names we haven't seen in 2015.
The first new name is Michael Kors (KORS). While its direct competitor Coach (COH) has been in MFI for some time, KORS is what COH was about 4-5 years ago. While growth has slowed down substantially for KORS, it is still a pretty rapidly growing company and certainly an interesting addition to MFI, trading near a 52-week low in a frothy market.
The second name is Iconix (ICON), a brand management company that has appeared in MFI in the past but not for a while. They own and license out several known brands such as Ocean Pacific, Massimo, Starter, Umbro, and several others, but do not actually make any product. This makes it a very low capital, high cash-flow business model. The stock is also near a 52-week low.
