Today's Report: Investors Bancorp (ISBC)

Investors Bancorp Inc, known by the ticker symbol ISBC,  is a mid-cap MI regional bank, operating in the financial services business sector. This is my first report on ISBC for this Viital portfolio or any of my previous six dog of the week portfolios.

Investors Bancorp Inc is the holding company for Investors Bank, a savings bank operating primarily in the greater New Jersey and New York metropolitan areas. Investors Bancorp, Inc. was founded in 1926 and is headquartered in Short Hills, New Jersey.

The bank obtains funds through both deposits and the wholesale market to originate loans and invest in securities.

Loans originated include commercial real estate loans, commercial and industrial loans, residential mortgage loans, construction loans, and consumer loans. The bank has traditionally grown through acquisitions and internal growth, including de novo branching. The vast majority of its loan portfolio is in commercial loans. The vast majority of its net revenue is in net interest income.

As of December 31, 2020, it operated through a network of 156 branches in New Jersey and New York.

Three key data points gauge any dividend equity or fund such as Investors Bancorp Inc (ISBC): (1) Price (2) Dividends (3) Returns.

Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

ISBC Price

Investor's price per share was $16.25 as of yesterday's market close. One year ago its price was $13.52. Therefore Investor's share price increased $2.73 or 20% in the past year.

If Investor's stock trades in the range of $12.00 to $18.00 this next year, its recent $16.25 share price might rise by $1.45 to reach $17.70 by March 3, 2023. This estimate is  provided by the median 1 year price targets from five analysts tracking ISBC for brokerages.

ISBC Dividends

Investor's most recent quarterly dividend of $0.16 was paid February 25th, to shareholders on record as of February 9th.  The ISBC  Annual estimated dividend payout per share of $0.64 yields 3.94% per yesterday's $16.25. closing price.

Investors has paid regular quarterly dividend payouts generally increasing annually since November, 2012. That stretch will mark 10 years in November.

ISBC Returns

Adding the $0.64 annual Investors Bancorp Inc forward-looking dividend to its estimated one-year price upside of $1.45 shows a $2.09 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade ISBC shares.

At yesterday's $16.25 price per share, a little over $1000 would buy 62 shares.

A $10 broker fee (if charged) would be paid half at purchase and half at sale and might cost us  $0.16 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.16 brokerage cost from my estimated $2.09 gross gain estimate per share results in a net gain of $1.93 X 62 shares = $119.66 for a 11.95% net gain on a $1,007.50 investment.

So it is that Investors Bancorp Inc (ISBC) shows a possible 11.95% net gain including a 3.94% forward estimated dividend yield.

Over the next year at this time our $1000 investment in Investors Bancorp Inc (ISBC) could generate $39.40 in cash dividends alone. Note that a single share of ISBC stock bought at yesterday's share price of $16.25 is almost 2 and one half times below the dividend income from $1000.00 invested.

So, by my dogcatcher ideal, now is a good time to pickup Investors Bancorp Inc (ISBC)  shares. The estimated next-year dividend from $1K invested is 2.43 times more than yesterday's single share price of ISBC. Consider yourself alerted: It's a sign!  Now's the time.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Investors Bancorp Inc (ISBC). Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its market value.
