The Next Big Thing

Here’s a “No duh, Captain Hindsight” statement:

Most investors assume that any firm associated with AI will be a huge winner.

We hope that’s not you. But if it is, you might wanna cool your jets, Buzz Lightyear.

This kind of behavior is as old as the markets.

Some examples:

  • Casino stocks in the 1970s
  • Oil stocks in the 1980s
  • Biotech, dotcoms, residential real estate, commercial real estate, Bitcoin, other cryptos, NFTs…

No doubt you can add to this list.

History shows us again and again that by the time the Average Investor gets wind of the Next Big Thing, it’s the Last Big Thing.

That’s why it’s important to listen to history’s lessons.

By paying attention, you can, to some degree, avoid costly mistakes.
