Costamare (CMRE) was founded in 1974 and is based in Monaco.

The company owns and operates containerships and dry bulk vessels worldwide.

Its containerships are chartered to liner companies providing transportation of cargoes.

The company also charters dry bulk vessels to various customers providing worldwide transportation for dry bulk cargoes.

As of February 12, 2025, it had a fleet of fleet of 68 containerships and 38 dry bulk vessels.

Three key data points gauge Costamare or any dividend paying entity, namely:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those keys also show if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

CMRE Price

Costamare’s share price increased over 10.5% in the past year from $8.32 to $9.19 as of Friday’s closing price.

CMRE Dividends

Costamare has paid variable quarterly dividends since February, 2011.

The current forward looking annual dividend of $0.34 yields 3.412% per Friday’s $9.19closing price.

CMRE Returns

Putting it all together, a $1.15 estimated gross gain per share shows up.

Adding Costamare’s annual $0.34 dividend to an estimated $0.81 annual price gain equals that gross gain.

A little under $1000 invested at the recent $9.19 price would buy 109 shares which, multiplies the $1.15 gross gain total to $125.14

Furthermore, near 30% of that $125 gain comes from the $37.10 in annual dividends generated from your $1,000 investment.

And the $37.10 annual dividend amounts to over 4 times the recent $9.19 single-share price.

(A dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy a stock that pays an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)

Therefore, you may choose to pounce on Costamare and its 3.71% dividend yield along with its 14 year dividend record.

The exact track of Costamare future share prices and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
