Helix Energy Reports Q3 Loss, Tops Revenue Estimates

Helix Energy (HLX) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.10 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.06. This compares to loss of $0.13 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of -266.67%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this offshore oil and gas services contractor would post a loss of $0.16 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.20, delivering a surprise of -25%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has not been able to surpass consensus EPS estimates.

Helix Energy, which belongs to the Zacks Oil and Gas - Field Services industry, posted revenues of $272.55 million for the quarter ended September 2022, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 19.45%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $180.72 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates four times over the last four quarters.
