HP Inc., known by the ticker symbol HPQ, is a large cap computer hardware manufacturer in the technology business sector. This is my second report on HPQ for my Viital stock portfolio. I last reviewed HPQ one month ago, October 25th for this Viital (my seventh) portfolio.

Three key data points gauge any dividend equity or fund such as HP Inc. (HPQ):
(1) Price
(2) Dividends
(3) Returns
Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.
HPQ Price
HP Inc's price per share was $35.26 as of yesterday's market close. One year ago its price was $22.38. Thus, HQP's share price grew about 57.6% in the past year.
If HPQ's stock trades in the range of $25.00 to $40.00 this year, its recent $35.26 share price could rise by $1.24 to reach $36.50 by December 1, 2022. My estimate is $1.09 above the median of the estimates from seventeen analysts who cover HP Inc (HPQ) for their brokerage firms.
HPQ Dividends
HP Inc's most recently announced a quarterly dividend of $0.25 will pay out on January 5th,2022 to shareholders of record on December 7th, 2021. The compounded annual payout of $1.00 yields 2.84% per yesterday's $35.26 closing price.
HP Inc. has paid quarterly dividends increasing generally annually since January 1990. That makes nearly 32 years of increasing payouts.
HPQ Returns
Adding the $1.00 annual estimated HPQ forward-looking dividend to my $1.24 price upside estimate shows a $2.24 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade HPQ shares.
At yesterday's $35.26 price per share, a little under $1000 would buy 28 shares.
A $10 broker fee (if charged) would be paid half at purchase and half at sale and might cost us $0.36 per share.
Subtract that maybe $0.36 brokerage cost from my estimated $2.24 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $1.88 X 28 shares = $52.64 for a 5.25% net gain on a $987.28 investment.
So it is that HP Inc. shows a possible 5.25% net gain including a 2.84% forward estimated dividend yield.
Over the next year at this time, a $1000 investment in HP Inc. could generate $28.40 in cash dividends alone. Note that a single share of HPE stock bought at yesterday's closing price was $35.26! Thus, HP Inc's share price is nearly 25% over the dividend income from $1000.00 invested. Thus, according to my dogcatcher ideal, now is not a prime time to pick up HP Inc shares. The estimated next-year dividend from $1k invested is nearly 25% less than the single share price. Consider yourself alerted. It's a sign! Wait for HPQ Price to fall below $30 before you buy HP Inc (HPQ) shares.
All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of HP Inc. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its market value.
