Daily Stock Analysis: Hackett Group

The portfolio of stocks I started building on September 8, at a one stock per week pace for the next year, is named Vista. I will select its seventeenth stock this weekend. Vista is the sixth portfolio I've built (at a one dividend dog per-week pace) since 2014. Six portfolios = VI for Vista!

Vista is planned to Look Ahead for Outstanding, Proven, Dividend Winners. (Like Aristocrats)

Today I'll review the third of four technology sector stock candidates vying to be that seventeenth selection in Vista.

Today we look at a small-cap information technology services company named The Hackett Group Inc. Its trading ticker symbol is HCKT. This is my second report on The Hackett Group for Vista. I last reported on it last September 16 and, previously in September 2019 and June and August this year for my Volio portfolio.

The Hackett Group Inc is a United States-based advisory firm. The company's offerings include executive advisory programs, benchmarking, business transportation, and technology advisory services.

The company's executive and practices advisory programs offer performance metrics, peer-learning opportunities, and practice implementation practices.

The benchmarking services help organizations measure and assess internal efficiency and effectiveness.

The business transformation programs help customers develop strategies to improve performance.

The company's technology advisory services help clients improve decision-making capabilities and deploy software applications.

The Hackett Group generates the majority of its revenue in the United States.

The company was formerly known as Answerthink, Inc. and changed its name to The Hackett Group, Inc. in 2008. The Hackett Group, Inc. was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida.

I use three key data points to gauge dividend equities or funds like The Hackett Group Inc:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether a company has made, is making, and will make money.

HCKT Price

Hackett's price per share closed at $14.03 yesterday. A year ago its price was $15.88. Price is down $1.85 or about 11.65% on the year.

If The Hackett Group stock trades in the range of $10 to $20 this next year, its recent $14.03 price might rise by $3.97 to reach $18.00 by December 30, 2021.

HCKT Dividends

Hackett's most recently declared quarterly dividend was $0.095 payable today, December 30th. Dividends are estimated to total $0.38 per share annually and yield 2.71% at yesterday's $14.03 closing price.

HCKT Gains?

Adding the $0.38 annual anticipated dividend to my $3.97 optimistic price upside shows a $4.35 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade the shares.

Put little under $1,000.00 today in The Hackett Group Inc at $14.03 per share and we'd buy 71 shares of HCKT stock.

A $10 broker fee (if any) paid half at purchase and half at sale could cost us about $0.14 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.14 brokerage cost from my estimated  $4.35 gross gain per share results in a net gain of $4.21 X 71 shares = $298.91 for a 29.9% net gain on a $996.13 investment.

So it goes that The Hackett Group Inc shows a possible 29.9% net gain including a 2.71% dividend yield. It could be more, it could be less.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of The Hackett Group Inc. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its worth.
