Central Pacific Financial Corp., with the ticker CPF, is a small-cap Hawaiian regional bank operating in the financial services business sector. This is the third of five financial services candidates competing for the forty-third slot in the Viital folio. It is my first report on Central Pacific Financial for my Viital portfolio or any of my previous six portfolios.

Central Pacific Financial Corp. operates in the financial services sector in the United States. It acts as a holding company for Central Pacific Bank, through which it provides a range of banking products and services.

It caters to businesses, professionals, and individuals through an array of loan products, including residential mortgage loans, commercial and consumer loans and lines of credit, commercial real estate loans, and construction loans.

Apart from its predominant banking segment, it also functions through a Treasury segment, which is responsible for managing the company's investment securities portfolio and wholesale funding activities.

As of December 31, 2021, it operated 30 branches and 69 automated teller machines in the state of Hawaii. The company was incorporated in 1954 and is headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Three key data points gauge any dividend equity or fund such as Central Pacific Financial Corp.

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three basic keys best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

CPF Price

Central Pacific’s price per share was $23.10 as of yesterday's market close.  One year ago its price was $24.95. Thus, CPF's share price fell $1.85 or about 7.4% in the past year.

If Central Pacific’s stock trades in the range of $20.00 to $30.00 this next year, its recent $23.10 share price might rise by $3.90 to reach $27.00 by next year. My $3.90 upside estimate is based on the median of one-year price targets set by three analysts covering Central Pacific Financial Corp.

CPF Dividends

Central Pacific’s most recently declared quarterly dividend of $0.26 was paid on June 15th, to shareholders on record as of May 27th.

Since September 16, 2013, Central Pacific has paid variable quarterly dividends.  The current forward-looking annual dividend of $1.04 equates to an annual yield of 4.5% as of yesterday's $23.10 share price.

CPF Returns

Adding the $1.04 Central Pacific annual dividend to my estimated one-year price upside estimate of $3.90 shows a $4.94 potential gross gain, per share, to be reduced by any costs to trade CPF shares.

At yesterday's $23.10 closing price, a little under $1000 would buy 43 shares.

A $10 broker fee (if charged) would be paid half at purchase and half at the sale and might cost us about $0.23 per share.

Subtract that maybe $0.23 brokerage cost from my estimated $4.94 gross gain estimate per share results in a net gain of $4.71 X 43 shares = $202.53, for a 20.25% net gain including a 4.5% forward-looking annual dividend yield.

Over the next year, our $1K investment in CPF shares should generate $45.00 in cash dividends. Of course, a single share of CPF stock bought at yesterday's $23.10 price is nearly two times less than the dividend income from our $1000.00 investment.

So, by my dogcatcher ideal, this is a prime time to pick up Central Pacific Financial Corp shares based on their forward-looking dividends for the year 2022. The forecast annual dividend from $1K invested is 1.95 times more than yesterday’s single share price. Consider yourself alerted. It's a sign.

All of the estimates above are speculation based on the past history of Central Pacific Financial Corp. Only time and money invested in this stock will determine its market value.
