Founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Sinclair, Inc. (SBGI), a media company, provides content on local television stations and digital platforms in the United States.

It operates through two segments, Local Media and Tennis.

The company distributes its content through its broadcast platform and third-party platforms that consist of programming provided by third-party networks and syndicators, local news, sports, and other original programming.

Three key data points gauge Sinclair or any dividend-paying entity, namely:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those keys also indicate if any company has made, is making, and will make money.

SBGI Price

Sinclair's share price fell about 3%  from $14.67 to $14.25 over the past year per Monday’s market price.

Seven analysts cover the stock.

The median of their one-year price targets set a one-year price at $16.00

SBGI Dividends

Sinclair has paid dividends quarterly since July 2004.

The current forward-looking annual $1.00 dividend yields 7.02% per Monday’s $14.25 share price.

The most recent $0.25 Quarterly dividend was paid out on September 15th.

SBGI Returns

Putting it all together, a $2.75 estimated gross gain per share shows up when adding SBGI’s annual $1.00 dividend  to an analyst-estimated $1.75 annual price gain.

A little under $1000 invested at the recent $14.25 share price would buy 70 shares which, multiply the $2.75 gross gain to an estimated $192.98 for the coming year.

About 36.3% of that $193 gain comes from the $70.20 of annual dividends generated from your $1,000 investment.

Besides, the $70.20 annual dividend income from your $1k investment is near 5 times greater than the recent $14.25 single-share price.

(A dividend dogcatcher rule is to only buy initial shares of a stock that pay an annual dividend from $1000 invested that is greater than the cost of a single share.)

Therefore, you may choose to pounce on Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc to get that current $70.20 annual dividend income that has been paid out over the past 21 years.

The exact track of SBGI’s future share price and dividends will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember, the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
