Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPD) is a master limited partnership that transports and processes natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals.

It is one of the largest midstream companies, with operations servicing most producing regions in the Lower 48 states.

Enterprise is particularly dominant in the NGL market and is one of the few MLPs that provide midstream services across the full hydrocarbon value chain.

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Three key data points gauge Enterprise Products or any dividend paying firm.

The key three are:

(1) Price

(2) Dividends

(3) Returns

Those three keys also best tell whether any company has made, is making, and will make money.

EPD Price

Enterprise Products’s share price increased about 20.4% in the past year from $27.75 to $33.41 as of Friday’s market close.

In the past 3 years the company’s share price has ranged from $22.91 to $34.43.

By the way EPD’s all-time high price of $41.38 was reached September 9, 2014.

Should the company conform to the median of one year price estimates from eighteen analysts, price could grow to $36.40 in the next year.

EPD Dividend

Enterprise Products Partners LP has paid variable quarterly dividends since November 12,1998. The company’s most January 8th 2025 for shareholders of record prior to January 31, 2024, and the payout was made February 14th. A forward looking annual dividend of $2.16 yields 6.47% per Friday’s closing price.

EPD Returns

Putting it all together, a $5.15 estimated gross gain per share shows up by adding Enterprise’s annual $2.16 dividend to the estimated $2.99 annual price gain, totaling that $5.15 gross amount.

A little over $1000 buys 30 shares at Friday’s $33.41 share price.

A $10 broker fee (if charged), collected half at purchase and half at sale, might take about $0.33 per share out of the $5.15 gross-gain to give us a $4.82 net amount per share to multiply by 30 shares, to equal $144.60 for over a 14.4% estimated net gain on the year.

Furthermore, the $64.70 annual dividend income from $1k invested in EPD is  near 2 times greater than the single-share price. By these numbers, Enterprise Products Partners LP could be an ideal dividend dog.

Therefore, you may choose to pounce on EPD as a 57 year-old quarterly dividend-paying midstream energy company with a 27 year dividend record.

The exact track of Enterprise Products Partners’ future price and dividend will entirely be determined by market action and company finances.

Remember the best way to track stock performance and dividend payments is through direct ownership of company shares.
