I have always believed that REITS were a safer way to diversity into real estate investing. Houses are for living in, and no-one can reliably know how to time the market. I like the low fee REITS from Vanguard the best. VGSIX is a good one. In 2014, when the S&P 500 returned around 13%, the Vanguard REIT Index Fund outperformed, delivering a total return of 30 %. Its a good long term bet, any thoughts?
