Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) reported electric vehicle (EV) sales of more than Rs 80 billion (bn) in the first half of FY26, placing the company at the top in India in terms of EV revenue generated during the period.
The company's electric Origin models, the XEV 9e and BE 6, introduced in November last year, have together recorded sales of over 30,000 units within seven months. This translates to roughly one EV sold every 10 minutes, according to statements made by Rajesh Jejurikar, ED & CEO at M&M.
The company also indicated that more than 1,000 Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs have crossed the 20,000 km milestone, with 65% of these vehicles being used daily. Collectively, customers have driven over 200 million kilometers, which the company says reflects the vehicles' capability and performance.
According to R Velusamy, President, Automotive Business at M&M and Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., customer feedback suggests that the BE 6 combines a futuristic exterior with a racing-inspired interior experience, reinforcing its electric-focused design.
